It's dark, drizzly, and dreary on this Thursday afternoon. So dark, in fact, that it seems to be dusk, even though it was approximately 3pm at the time this picture was taken.

If you'll go ahead and turn your eyes towards my rearview, you'll notice a Jeep Grand Cherokee with its parking lights on. Now, for anyone who isn't familiar with NY state law, you must have your headlights on whenever you use your windshield wipers (unless you're just turning them on in conjunction with the washer fluid to clean off bugs, or whatever). Shit, even if it hadn't been drizzling at that time, it was dark enough to warrant headlights no matter what (as denoted by the headlights of just about everyone else on the road at that time). However, since this cool person in their mighty SUV is impervious to any weather-related tribulations, they apparently don't need to put their headlights on. Here's a news flash... parking lights are not adequate!!! They are called parking lights for a reason. They are not supposed to be used when driving at any time... it's either they're off, or your headlights are on with them. Using parking lights does not help you see, and it does not help other drivers see the front of your car either. This ought to be common-sense knowledge, so why can't some people get it? Oh, that's right... common sense doesn't seem to be so common these days. Pity...
